Asia-Oceanic Steel Drum Manufacturers

1. Designation
	The organization is designated Association of Asia-Oceanic Steel Drum Manufacturers, AOSD for short.
2. Office
	The AOSD shall operate its office in Tokyo, Japan.
3. Objective
	The objective of the association is to promote partnership among manufacturers in Asia-Oceanic region, as well as to engage in the following activities.
	1)	research, study and information exchange concerning steel drums and pails
	2)	organization of international meetings in the Asia-Oceanic region
	3)	encouraging active communications among steel drum and pail manufacturers, on the subjects of common interest
	4)	submitting joint proposals to the International Meetings held by the International Confederation of Drum the manufacturers ( ICDM ),as to the subjects having common interest to the manufacturers of Asia-Oceanic region
	5)	promoting closer relationship among members as well as publicizing the common interest of the members
4. Membership
	1)	Qualified member of the AOSD is to be classified three kinds of members as indicated in the following.
		(1)	Association Member: Drum and/or pail manufacturers association in Asia and Oceanic region
		(2)	Individual Member: Drum and/or pail manufacturers in Asia and Oceanic region
		(3)	Supplier Member : Drum and pail parts and materials suppliers in Asia and Oceanic Region
	2)	"Application for AOSD membership registration" is to be submitted to AOSD Secretariat and accepted by the AOSD Secretary General. By this step, it will become effective provisionally.
	3)	It will take effect officially with its acknowledgement at the AOSD General Assembly.
5. Subscription
	Annual subscription to the AOSD is not set at present. Note: For the time being, JSDA will shoulder the required expenses.
6. Officers
	(1)	One Chairman, several Vice-Chairmen and one Secretary General shall serve as the officers of the AOSD.
	(2)	The Chairman and Vice-Chairman shall be elected from and among the AOSD members. The term of office shall be 3 years.
	Note:		The Chairman of JSDA shall serve as the Chairman of the AOSD as well up to the time of the General Assembly scheduled in 2007.
	(3)	The Secretary General of the JSDA shall also assume the Secretary General of the AOSD as well.
7. Meeting
	1)	General Assembly
		(1)	In principle, general assembly of the AOSD shall be held every three years.
		(2)	The general assembly shall be presided by the Chairman. In the absence of the Chairman, one of the Vice-chairman shall be elected to preside the meeting.
		(3)	The following items shall be resolved at the general meeting. (1) establishment and revision of rules (2) election of the Chairman and Vice-Chairman (3) principal activities of the Association
		(4)	At the general assembly, association members shall have one vote and individual members, supplier members and manufacturers attending the general assembly shall have one vote respectively. To take effect, a resolution shall be supported by more than 50% of the total vote cast at the general assembly.
	2)	Board Meeting
		(1)	Board meeting shall take place in regular intervals.
		(2)	At the Board meeting, items relating to International Conference and other important items relative to management of the association shall be discussed and resolved.
	3)	International Meeting
		(1)	In principle, an international meeting will take place every three years.
		(2)	The venue and program of an international meeting shall be determined on each occasion.
8. Languages/Standard Currency
	1)	The official language of the association shall be English.
	2)	The U. S. Dollar shall be in principle the standard currency of the association in financial settlement.
9. Establishment of National Organization/Promotion of the AOSD Membership
	AOSD members shall be encouraged to establish the national organization in their respective countries, thus contributing to the promotion of the AOSD membership.
